Why You Should NOT Wait to Get LASIK?

What are the reasons you should get LASIK now instead of waiting?

Reasons You Should Get LASIK Sooner than Later

The most common reason to get LASIK now rather than later is the same reason it is better to start exercising now instead of delaying. If there is a way to make your life easier or better, then it makes sense to do that sooner than later. Great vision without contacts and glasses is just flat-out more convenient. Every year you delay is another entire year you had annoyance in your life that wasn’t necessary.

LASIK Makes Your Life Better

Imagine a pill you take just once and then from that point on, you are completely refreshed and alert when you wake up in the morning. This imaginary pill is safe and long-term effective. If it could be afforded, there aren’t a lot of people who would say, “Amazing! I’ll take that pill in two years. Until then, I’ll be groggy for an hour most mornings.” I look at LASIK that way. So does the almost-LASIK-patient at their next day post-op check. “I wish I’d done this sooner,” is the most common phrase uttered in the post-op clinic.

The Procedure is Easier than You’d Think

One other reason not to wait is if fear is what’s holding you back. I don’t know how many LASIK patients I’ve watched go through the process, but it is in the tens of thousands. Out of all of them, every single patient who’s ever commented on the process says some variation of, “man, that was so much easier than I thought it’d be.”

There are probably other reasons. If you want to know why you should do it now, and not delay another day, your best bet is to just ask a friend who’s had LASIK. Just make sure they had it somewhere good. Like somewhere that loves refractive surgery more than sales pitches.
